NOTES:
* Here Eros corresponds to the basic tension propeling us through the whole life. Its opposite drive, behind all tension's reliefs, may be called distension**, that is, the emptying out of the needs posed by Eros. The culmination of such a distension trend is death, a good reason to name it Thanatos.
The perpetual fight between Eros and Thanatos is at the roots of all forms of life, as well of all forms of life.
** A same pair of latin words, 'tensio-distensio', were used by Agustine from Hippona in his Confessions, chapter XI. This blogger was quite unaware of that great, deep ancient reflection on Time's ontology. Therefore, it is even too early for me to compare his great insights with this modest, brief reflection on the subject, or whether there are actual affinities behind these same words.
