Hegel, Minerva's* Owl And Our Times

According to Hegel, the Philosopher of History's analytical eye resembles that of an owl overflying fields, looking for preys. He meant it's only when civilizations reach their ultimate decay that it becomes feasible a grasp of their fundamental structures. Their deepest reality might be revealed only during 'twilight', when the Philosopher's analytical gaze would be analogous to that of a hunting owl. As it is well known such birds mostly hunt at dusk.
Could there already be in our growingly polluted heavens a last and melancholy 'Owl of Minerva' flying over our twenty-first century Earth, certainly eager to find the causes of mankind's failure?

* Minerva is the Latin name of Pallas-Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom always accompanied by an owl.

'The Last Owl', whose cover is seen above, is a novel published by this blogger at amazon.com. Just click here to get a FREE sample, whatever your device be.
