TO LIVE IS VERY DANGEROUS

Both the wonderful as the abominable are inherent parts of the world, of life. There is no possible 'synthesis' between these opposites. Those seeking such an imagined synthesis are looking for a chimera, for the Nothingness.
There remains to us humans nothing except to courageously face the reality of these two facets of life. And to face it frontally with an open (but armed) chest.
Such is the intended meaning of the phrase "to live is very dangerous" by Riobaldo Tatarana, character in a Guimarães Rosa's masterpiece.
If you want the wonders of living, you have to also confront the hideous. Escaping this danger is to take refuge in a vacuum, it is choose not to live. Pretend that you live seemingly is not dangerous, nor is a true living. It means just embodying Nothingness, hence becoming an ephemeral and empty spectrum.
